Frequently Asked Questions About PC Based Time & Attendance
+ Q. How long has ARMI been a reseller for Time America?
A. ARMI has been a reseller for Time America since 1987. We saw a need for PC based time and attendance systems in our pool of payroll clients Since Time America offers the most affordable and versatile systems available they were a good fit with ARMI.
+ Q. Can a Time America system determine who is arriving in late or leaving early?
A. Yes. The TA50, TA100 and the GENESIS are able to flag "exceptions". An "exception" is when there is a difference between an employee's in or out punch when compared to their schedule. By loading in employee's schedules you will be able to see who came in late/ early, left late/ early, or who just didn't show up for work.
+ Q. Which of the software products will be able to restrict my employee's to a schedule?
A. All of the software products. Each of the software packages allow you to define "pay policies". By imputing your employee's schedule you will be able to see "exceptions" and put your "pay policies" into action. A "pay policy" is a customizable set of rules that govern all or some of your employees. You can define precise times to round an in or out punch to.
+ Q. Does the Time America software allow you to round your employee's punches?
A. Yes. All of the software products allow you to define the rounding. For example, you can have the system round your employees punches to the nearest quarter hour to the precise time that they punch in or out.
+ Q. Do the Time America systems give an easy way to see who is approaching overtime?
A. Yes. Each system allows you to generate an Approaching Overtime Report.
+ Q. Can the Time America systems ring a bell or even open doors?
A. Yes. These features can only be found in the TA100 or the GENESIS. Each of these systems allow you to attach bells or door relays.
+ Q. How many levels of overtime can a system handle?
A. The TA100 and GENESIS can handle three while the TA50 can handle two.
+ Q. Do the systems allow you to track changes in departments and/or jobs?
A. Yes. All of the systems allow for department changes. The GENESIS system not only tracks changes through departments but also through four other hierarchical levels. The GENESIS also has the ability to make sure that a correct job number is being entered.
+ Q. How are the data terminals connected to the software?
A. There are a variety of ways that a terminal can be connected to the software, such as modem, ethernet, or a direct line. None of these require a dedicated connection.
+ Q. Can the data collection terminals read anything other than magnetic stripe cards?
A. Yes. Each of the terminals has the ability to be modified into a barcode reader. This would be a necessity if your employees work around any equipment that may demagnetize their time cards, such as a MRI. The other form of identification can be your employee's hand. The HP series data terminal uses advanced biometrics which makes time cards needless and eliminates "buddy punching"
